Ian Rankin’s Secret Edinburgh

Huge thanks to author Ian Rankin for being the subject of our latest short documentary about Edinburgh. In this short film, Ian describes the secret side of Edinburgh, the part of the city that the tourist often misses. Filmed over a period of a few months at the start of 2016, the film features extensive aerial footage of Edinburgh.
At the start of 2014, Swift Films relocated to Edinburgh having been based down in Bristol for over 10 years. This film encapsulates why we made the move. There is no place more beautiful in the world than Scotland’s capital.

Richard Nicholls - Managing Director
Before launching Swift Films, Richard worked as a broadcast TV director and editor, working on programmes for the BBC, ITV and Sky.
A multi-skilled and technically-minded filmmaker, Richard is equally at home coming up with creative concepts as he is on location filming or pulling footage together in the edit suite.
Richard is a member of Independent Producers Scotland and has a love of cats, football, chocolate and Film Noir (in that order).
