Oscar Predictions 2017

It has become an annual tradition for us to predict who will win those coveted golden statues at the end of February. Last year in our Oscars prediction we didn’t fare so well, only correctly guessing a paltry 13 out of 24 categories. In 2014 we did better, correctly predicting 17 out of 24.

On the day the 2017 Oscar nominees were announced, we predicted triumphantly on twitter that the beautiful La La Land would win the most Oscars of all time.

We may have been a bit hasty with this prediction, but we stand by this bold statement. In order for this to happen, La La Land will need to win 11 out of the 14 categories in which it’s nominated. If this happens, it will tie the all-time record with Ben Hur, Titanic and Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
