Update on the Redrock Micro ‘One Man Crew’ review

By - Richard - 13th April 2015

Last month we put together our thoughts on the Redrock Micro One Man Crew. This parabolic slider is a fabulous piece of kit – when it works. We had been using the motorised dolly system to excellent effect on a couple of projects over a six week period last summer. But then the motor died and the device was redundant.

In summary, our broken slider was sent back to Redrock Micro in America for repair. It came back 5 weeks later but still wasn’t working properly. We sent it back to America again for repair and it came back once more in an unusable condition. The shake on the One Man Crew, although only slight, rendered it all but useless. It could possibly be corrected with image stabilisation software, but surely this defeats the purpose of the unit in the first place. This time we demanded to have either a full refund or a brand new unit. Redrock Micro have said they will provide us with a brand new one, but we have had to send the broken one back to America once again. This was almost two weeks ago and we’re waiting for our new one to arrive. We paid over £1100 for the One Man Crew and have not been able to use it since August 2014. We wait and hope that finally we will have a solution to this long running saga.
