International Dance Festival Birmingham 2014
We were originally commissioned by International Dance Festival Birmingham 2012 to be their chosen production partners for all aspects of the prestigious biennial festival.
In 2014, once again we produced a series of edited and full length versions of festival productions and created various showreels showcasing highlights of the four week event.
This included a unique collaboration entitled ‘Concert Dansé’ at the prestigious Symphony Hall. It featured works for choir, organ and cello, and the evening culminated in an evocative re-imagining of Duruflé’s Requiem with a mix of ballet, Kathak and contemporary dance.
We also produced the live broadcast of the festival’s flagship outdoor show B-Town. This was shown on a big screen in the centre of Birmingham (and streamed live online) during its four-night run.
Results
Exceeding all previous audience and participation numbers, over 60,000 people saw a performance in the festival. The films we produced helped secure funding for the 2016 festival and cemented the festival’s reputation as one of the biggest and most varied dance festivals in Europe. If you would like to know more about this project and how it was developed and produced, please read this case study.
